2011 has been a good year for Reigndear who have been included in several television advertisements featured on M-net‘s music channel MK. The campaign titled MK is featured many emerging artist and was conceptualized by Ogilvy‘s 1984, filmed by American Apparel photographer Purienne and edited by non other than the one and only Jamie Taylor, look out for his upcoming film The Mayflower Whale.

Reigndear have just released Three Official Video Slideshows via YouTube & Vimeo; as-well-as-across many of their social platforms including Facebook, Last.fm, Labtones, etc. etc..
Each Slideshow encompasses three different themes, namely that of Death, Birth & LIfe — each song being taken from one of the Good Old Fashioned Death, Birth & Life EP’s —. All photography comes straight from Reigndear’s Kent Dylan & Wesley Jay whom both contributed half of the photos featured.
Songs chosen include Sleighbells for Life, Blackeyes for Birth & the original instrumental version of Mollies & Daisies for Death, which was performed and recorded by Reigndear’s Johnny Atterbury!

This year we, at Reigndear.com have gone through all of our networks featuring Reigndear songs, and compiled a “scientific”, “End Of The Year List” to determine the most popular Reigndear songs for 2010.
We are very happy and proud announce, as-well-as share the results, that you, the listener, have chosen to play Reigndear 5,146 times during 2010, and all stats and graphs point to the likelihood that this trend is to continue.
Royalties took the top spot with 1,638 listens, followed closely by Hurse & Blackeyes coming in with 1,186 & 472 listens respectively.
Two big surprises were You Gotta Have This & If Man, which despite being unreleased, and only available as live tracks on Reigndear’s YouTube Channel (both slotted for recording for Reigndear’s next album project), still managed to make it into the top 20.

Good Old Fashioned Death – OUT NOW (10/10/10)

Good Old Fashioned Death, recorded at the end of the world and brought back in time by Reigndear for you.
“We always wanted to put Good Old Fashioned Death out as though it was recorded just moments before the end of the world, when there just wasn’t any time to worry about perfection; when death in itself, is perfection.”
Recorded entirely in Taiwan (a country plagued with threats of attack from China) between 2005 and 2008 and released officially on the 10th of the 10th 2010 (National Taiwan Day) Good Old Fashioned Death, is not only a hallmark of Reigndear’s birthplace, but also of the bands love for the country of Taiwan in all it’s chaos and beauty.
Reigndear have devised a “Full Transparency” concept for the 3 Disc release of Birth, Life & Death.
“It always astounds me that we have to wait until artists die before we are allowed to listen to the demos and early works, with the Good Old Fashioned project, we are hoping to release our records the way life intended, in order. We as a band felt that this project should be concieved, gestate and grow until it’s final maturity, we have been doing this silently, as life does, for sometime now and have decided to, with the release of Death, to make this concept known.”
As time goes on the band will be adding new tracks and eventually, mastered versions which will be available only for purchase, but hope that fans will collect the free and unmastered versions and enjoy the growth and final blooming, the way honeybees enjoy the coming of spring.
“We understand that some people might hate this concept, yet we know that many will love it and cherish this opportunity to be a part of our bands birth, it’s a gift to the fans who have helped keep us positive and pressing on, through poverty and near starvation, day jobs and days when making these records just seems impossible for people facing the challenges we face in it’s realization, Thank-you all.”

Memory In Mind -Kent Dylan-My illusion, was created by the 21st century and my illusion is shared, by you. You see we don’t care, but we think we do. And we can ‘t change, because we have to all change at the very same time. And we can’t grasp at anything at all, our drowned hands, still; filled with straw.
Because it’s been decided, before me and with me in mind.
The real world ceased to exist before I was born. And reality, was constructed for me, before me and with me in mind,
a wheel within a wheel, a sign within a sigh; a 32 or an 8 at best.
And God is not the god we read of in the Bible; god in the Bible is the government. God just creates. The Devil starts wars; and then lies always in devilish disguise and still, God just creates, on and on.
And if you get smaller as you evolve life gets better each time you are born, so suffer less; each time you go
memory of the time before; or not intact in and out of every door.

CKXU is the campus-community radio station at the University of Lethbridge and is Southern Alberta’s only campus-community radio station. During the time Reigndear were in Cape Town, South Africa they made a trek up Lion’s Head to film an exclusive take of two songs, Blackeyes and the still unreleased You Gotta Have This (I Don’t Need You Attitude) for thenewgay.net, you can read the whole article by clicking here. Both songs were filmed overlooking the Twelve Apostles which are part of the lovely Table Mountain.

I remember the hymnal, red
I remember his short blonde hair
I remember abusive overtone
I remember being slapped through the face
For not singing the songs I was told to sing
I remember being asked
Who the fuck I thought I was
I recall pondering, just for a moment
The deeper meaning to his question
There was however no depth to be found in him
I gave up pondering
I remember glances from worried juniors
I remember green 44 gallon, little wall to my left
I remember blues skies, dirt under foot, four walls, inside out
I remember hatred by the bucket load
I remember the slap through the face
I remember my hymnal in his hand after it had left my cheek, red
I remember being told I had
No value
No pride
No respect
For moving my mouth silently to words
I recall pondering, just for a moment
The deeper meaning of public humiliation in front of your peers
I remember it all like a well-captured dream
But I won’t remember his name
